Director’s Note:

For artists, especially those of color, there’s an expectation that our identity is tied to the art that we create. That responsibility weighs on me heavily, and I occasionally wonder what the trajectory of my career would look like if I also didn’t feel that obligation to speak to a higher purpose, instead of just what fulfilled me personally. That’s where Qui Nguyen, the playwright, found himself when he wrote this story – caught between being held up by his community as a talented writer who can spotlight Vietnamese culture, and his actual passions of superheroes, fantasy, and other geek-related media. Agent G is, in essence, Qui’s attempt to harmonize those two aspects of his identity within himself – and to the world.

David Le is a director based in Seattle and Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in Theater, much to his parents’ dismay. Cultural identity, family, and the sense of longing are often focal points in his work. He finds nothing more enjoyable than telling stories that speak to the current moment in some way – that challenge people’s beliefs about who they are as a person, but also celebrate the culture and ideas that they are the culmination of. He has previously worked with Yun Theatre, Playground-LA, REBATEnsemble, UW Undergraduate Theatre Society, and Pork Filled Productions – the latter of which he is currently a producer for. He is currently co-directing the West Coast premiere of June is the First Fall – see it next month!

Justin Tran is a Seattle-based actor, music director, and pianist. He is extremely excited to be working with Pork Filled Productions for the first time! Recent projects include A Charlie Brown Christmas (Taproot Theatre) and The Spitfire Grill (Edmonds Driftwood Players). Justin has also worked as a teaching artist at the 5th Avenue Theatre and Village Theatre KIDSTAGE, and is a founding member of Gaisma Theatre Group. Thanks to MT. @justinttran

Kaughlin Caver is excited to be returning to Pork Filled Productions with The Inexplicable Redemption of Agent G. Kaughlin began his journey in creative arts as a songwriter/ recording artist performing across the East coast. He has training from Freehold Theatre and Greenwood Studio. With an impressive repertoire spanning both film and theater, including standout performances in Brown Bodies on a Blue Earth, Santa vs Ninja, Cerebria, Harrison Quinn, Tartuffe, Ghost Train, and “She Devil of the China Seas,” Kaughlin promises to deliver an unforgettable performance. Outside of performing arts, Kaughlin is passionate about innovative tech and can be found in the metaverse. He wants to thank his family and friends for the continued support and is grateful to the director for this opportunity. Find him on all social media platforms @Kaughlin
