Pork Filled Productions is pleased to announce our Fall 2014 show, Fast Company. We are auditioning Asian American actors for the show, which is by Carla Ching and directed by Amy Poisson (These Streets and The Clockwork Professor).
Meet
the Kwans--a Chinese American family of expert con artists, grifters,
and thieves. But when daughter Blue masterminds a Very Big Score,
things hit the fan for the whole family, including her brothers,
Francis and H, and their mother, Mable. It's a race to see who will
come out on top in this fast-paced game full of twisty turns and
questionable motives, in this fun, stylish crime caper.
Fast Company will
be performed at Theatre Off Jackson in Seattle’s International District
- 409 7th Ave S. Seattle, WA 98104 - from Halloween weekend to November
22. Performances will run Thursday, Friday,
and Saturday evenings with one (1) Monday industry
night performance.
Audition Information
Audition/Interview Dates: Tuesday, May 27,
starting at 6:30 pm; Wednesday, May 28, starting at 6:30 pm.
Callbacks or second audition/interview? Saturday, May 31, 10 am to 4 pm
Please prepare one (1) contemporary comedic monologue, not to exceed three minutes.
Actors will be paid a stipend.
Character Breakdown / Project Needs
All characters are in good physical shape and could blend in with any type of crowd, from a black-tie event to the
corner coffee shop. Any experience with sleight of hand or stage magic is a plus.
BLUE - Asian American female, early 20s. Strong-willed, spirited young woman trying to make it on her own as a con artist.
H
- Asian American male, early to late 20s. Trying to get out of the
game, he's prone to making bad choices for the wrong reasons.
FRANCIS - Asian American male early to late 20s. A world-famous
illusionist who comes across as a mild-mannered fellow, but hides a
killer instinct.
MABLE - Asian American female late 40s to early 60s. A
non-traditional matriarch and a master grifter who is on top of her
game, not sentimental or forgiving.
