PFP Seeks Asst. Director for NANAY

Pork Filled Productions is seeking an assistant director for its world premiere of Nanay by Molly Olis Krost, directed by Alyza DelPan-Monley, at the Theatre Off Jackson (409 7th Ave. S., in Seattle’s Chinatown International District), October 30 to November 14. Rehearsals will begin late September.

Angela has arrived to congratulate her twin sister on her new baby but, instead finds Eve “cohabitating” with a Filipino vampire with an infamous hunger for all things fetus. Does Angela believe Eve’s claims that all is well with her new relationship? NANAY incorporates Filipino mythology and tradition to compare eastern and western approaches to sisterhood, trauma and healing

Duties of the Assistant Director:

  • Aid the director in directing the show to the best of their ability with a focus on preparing understudies for their role;
  • Oversee the rehearsal of understudies during regular rehearsal;
  • Run understudy-specific rehearsals;

Required qualifications:

Experience in working with or as BIPOC actors (experience with working with or as Asian/Asian American actors desirable)

Desired qualifications

Knowledge of Filipino culture/customs desirable

Audtions for NANAY April 18

Thank you for your interest in auditioning for Pork Filled Productions’ upcoming production of Nanay by Molly Olis Krost, directed by Alyza DelPan-Monley.

Please note that these auditions are for understudy roles only, as the principal roles have already been pre-cast.

These roles include an $800 stipend and will include (1) guaranteed understudy performance (production is working on adding an additional understudy performance).

Auditions will take place at:
ReAct Theatre
562 1st Ave S #400
Seattle, WA

Please do your best to arrive 10–15 minutes before your audition slot to help keep the schedule running smoothly. Also keep in mind that there will be a Mariners Game starting at 4:15pm this day, so please prepare accordingly (and take public transit if possible).

Sides and other pertinent audition information will be sent to the email address you provide on your sign-up, ideally about one week before the audition date.

You will need to be let into the space. When you arrive for your audition slot, please call or text Matt Dela Cruz (Lead Producer) at 206-437-8372.

Approx. August 2026 through October 2026

Performance Schedule and Location:
October 28, 2026 – November 14th at Theatre Off Jackson in Seattle (Specific dates/times during this timeframe to be determined due to casting, etc). However, please keep this timeframe available if you are interested in being part of this show.

Strike: November 14th, 2026, following the final performance.

A singular manifestation of multiple spirits embedded in Eve’s home: a creature from Filipino mythology; Eve and Angela’s memories and impressions of their mother throughout their lives; and the essence of the healing figure they were in their previous pre-colonial life. How human or creature-like they appear is open to interpretation. Apparently, their name is Ernesto.
