Pork Filled Productions is seeking an assistant director for its world premiere of Nanay by Molly Olis Krost, directed by Alyza DelPan-Monley, at the Theatre Off Jackson (409 7th Ave. S., in Seattle’s Chinatown International District), October 30 to November 14. Rehearsals will begin late September.
Angela has arrived to congratulate her twin sister on her new baby but, instead finds Eve “cohabitating” with a Filipino vampire with an infamous hunger for all things fetus. Does Angela believe Eve’s claims that all is well with her new relationship? NANAY incorporates Filipino mythology and tradition to compare eastern and western approaches to sisterhood, trauma and healing
Duties of the Assistant Director:
- Aid the director in directing the show to the best of their ability with a focus on preparing understudies for their role;
- Oversee the rehearsal of understudies during regular rehearsal;
- Run understudy-specific rehearsals;
Required qualifications:
Experience in working with or as BIPOC actors (experience with working with or as Asian/Asian American actors desirable)
Desired qualifications
Knowledge of Filipino culture/customs desirable
