Our mission is to put Asian and Asian American stories on stage. There’s a factoid we use: Asians make up 20% of the population but only have 5% of the roles on stage.  We make a real dent into that shortfall, because a THIRD of that 5% comes from companies like PFP.  If the world doesn’t tell your stories, you grab a stage and tell it yourself.

And the reason why we’re able to do that is because of you. Because YOU want Asian stories, we put those stories on stage. Because YOU want Asian stories, you buy the tickets for those stories. Because YOU want Asian stories, you donate to PFP to make it happen. It’s great teamwork.

Early giving is about to begin for GiveBIG, the Puget Sound’s big push to donate to area non profits. What’s also about to begin is an era of new ideas and new projects for Pork Filled. We’re about to spin off Joy Market to do Asian American sketch and improv comedy. We’re about to launch a musical theatre wing to showcase all the awesome singer actors in the community. And we’re about to premiere new works and new scripts to highlight parts of our community seldom seen, starting with our fall mainstage show, Nanay, about two Filipina sisters and a Filipino vampire. And we just might be adding paid staff to make our visions into reality.
