“Ooh this is a fun play presented by Pork Filled Players at Theatre Off Jackson. Do you like ghosts lurching around and throwing things? Imaginatively combining a Black couple’s post-Katrina fears and a Thai family’s immigrant travails.

“There are some terrific low-tech special effects and even some magic tricks that definitely caused the audience to gasp in surprise…
The family dynamics in the play are cute to watch with Hsieh reveling in the dominating mother, enforcing the Thai culture. Whitaker-Paquiet and Hill have lovely chemistry as husband and wife and it’s nice to see a black couple simply being a loving and supportive couple without major plot drama. ”
Seattle Gay News

“Go see this show! it totally freaked me out and was so moving on so many other levels beyond the scare factor; really, go support it.”

THE BROTHER’S PARANORMAL–THE PERFECT HALLOWEEN SHOW
Drama In the Hood

“The playwright has created two sets of interesting characters (the Thai family of ghost busters and Delia/Felix the African American hurricane refugees) and the dialogue is amusing and there are some fun scary scenes in the play with clever DIY stagecraft utilizing Robin Macartney’s innovative set design. The overall feeling of an Asian ghost/horror movie is nicely done on this production’s small budget.”
Seattle GayScene

“Saw ‘The Brothers Parnormal’ the other night; it was awesome. Effects were incredible and the ending surprised me. Great show!”

Runs through November 16. Tickets here.

PFP Proudly Announces Our Fall 2019 Mainstage Production: The Brothers Paranormal

We’re overjoyed to announce that we’re producing Prince Gomolvilas’ The Brothers Paranormal, directed by Mimi Katano, just in time for Halloween 2019! After staging a reading of this in 2015, we’ve been itching to bring Brothers to the stage with a full production, and we’re honored to be part of the play’s rolling world premiere with theaters in NYC, Minneapolis, Indianapolis and Portland!

In The Brothers Paranormal, two Thai-American brothers launch a ghost-hunting business in order to capitalize on the nationwide increase in sightings of “Asian-looking ghosts.” When the siblings end up investigating the home of an African-American couple that claims to be haunted by one very terrifying spirit, everyone’s notions of reality, fantasy, and sanity clash against the shocking truth.

Long time PFP fans will remember Prince as the author of 2007 Big Hunk O’ Burnin’ Love, our first foray into stage plays wayyy back in 2007.  You won’t want to miss this latest venture, so make sure to follow PFP here or on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with us!
